Camping – There are just few sites for camping in Chattanooga:

Raccoon Mountain is the closest one to town, about 15 minutes away, with tent sites starting at $25 a night. More than one tent fits on tent sites. They also offer several different options. Regardless if you are staying in a tent or cabin, anyone there has access to bathrooms facilities.

Closest to Stone Fort we have Chester Frost Park that is about 30 minutes away from town. Campsites hold up to 8 people and start at $21 with bathroom facilities.

Tennessee Wall has been called “the best trad in the South” countless times and also has camping. It is primitive, 10 minutes away, and free!

One of the most well known areas for bouldering is Rocktown that also has it’s own camping. It is owned by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and less than an hour away from town. There are different prices whether you are a resident of the state of Georgia or not so please see pricing information here http://georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes

GETTING HERE

Airports:  There are a couple options. You can fly into straight into Chattanooga (CHA); it’s about a $15 Uber/taxi ride into Downtown Chattanooga. You can also fly into Nashville, TN (BNA), Atlanta, GA (ATL), or Birmingham, AL (BHM), which are all about 2 hours from Chattanooga. If you ‘re looking for a shuttle check out Groome Transpotation. They run round trip shuttles from the Atlanta and Nashvile airports to Chattanooga.
We have created a Women’s Climbing Festival Participant Switchboard on Facebook where all registered participants can coordinate carpools, rideshares and travel plans with one another. If you are a registered participant and have not received an invite to this group, please email us a vicky@flashfoxy.com.

CLIMBING INFORMATION

Check out some sweet destination guides on Chattnooga by Moja Gear (Stonefort, Rocktown), Access Fund, Roots Rated and Climbing Magazine for some beta on the various bouldering, trad and sport climbing areas in and around Chattanooga!

Bouldering: There are several locations to boulder close to Chattanooga. The 2 biggest and closest is Stone Fort (aka Little Rock City or LRC) and Rocktown. Other spots include Zahnd, Little River Canyon and Hospital Boulders.

Sport Climbing: Most sport climbing options are just outside of town including Deep Creek, Denny’s Cove, Foster Falls, Prentice Cooper, Leda, Castle Rock and many more. I would highly recommend looking into the Chatt Steel guidebook.

Trad climbing: Many of the sport areas also offer plenty of trad, but the locals favorite, right close to town, is the Tennessee Wall also know as T-Wall. The Chatt Trad guidebook is something to look into as well.
