ARC’TERYX and LA SPORTIVA

I’ve been climbing since 2015 and guiding since 2021, and I love being part of the climbing community. Teaching clinics is one of my favorite things—I enjoy helping people feel more confident on the wall and empowering them to get outside and be their best selves. Whether it’s refining movement or just making climbing feel smoother and more fun, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned!

SCARPA

Lor fell in love with climbing at a gym in Detroit, Michigan when they were twelve years old. As a young climber, they split their time between competitive climbing and exploring sandstone crags in the southeast. Lor has a diverse background in the climbing industry as a guide, route setter, and coach. They now work as a mental training coach and therapist, exploring the relationship between mental health, mental performance, and community resilience in adventure sports. Lor loves all types of climbing, but they are especially drawn to steep splitter cracks and desert towers.

FLASH FOXY EDUCATION

Genevive Walker has been climbing for about ten years and with the Shawangunks as her original home crag, trad climbing always had a special place in her heart. Over the years, she combined her love of travel with climbing and experienced different varieties of rock, amazing people, and interesting cultures along the way. Her favorite part of traveling is meeting people from all walks of life and sharing the common passion for travel and climbing. She is a single pitch instructor and rock guide apprentice who has been guiding for six years. As much as she loves guiding, teaching is her passion. Any chance Genevive has to share the skills she learned with others in the community, she will with enthusiasm.

I’m originally from Louisville, KY and I got started climbing at Climb NuLu. Red River Gorge was the one of the first places I climbed outside and it’s held a special place as my home crag. After graduating college in Lexington, I got into the dirtbagging at Miguel’s, where I’ve now spent four seasons climbing, living, and being part of the community. Over the past year, I’ve also worked as a route setter in the Midwest and Utah. I love connecting with others through climbing, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned along the way.

SATURDAY MORNING WORKSHOP

Amanda is a physical therapist, personal trainer, and avid rock climber. She lives in Louisville, KY, and her home crag is the Red River Gorge, where she spends much of her time sport climbing. As a PT, Amanda treats all orthopedic conditions, and she has specialty training in pelvic health physical therapy for all genders, pre and postnatal care, sports injuries, dry needling, as well as vestibular dysfunction and dizziness. Outside of work, Amanda is passionate about exercise and training in all forms. While you can mostly find her bouldering or sport climbing, she also loves dancing, weight lifting, and really anything that makes her move!

YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Mahalia is a certified yoga, Pilates, and group fitness instructor, holding a particular affinity for leading Advanced Vinyasa, Mat Pilates, and Core Conditioning. She strives to advance the accessibility of fitness, yoga, Pilates, climbing, and the outdoors for all walks of life, and hopes to inspire students with newfound confidence, self-awareness, connection to breath, and peace with present being. No two classes will ever be the same, and she is ~passionate~ about curating the best playlists to match the unique energy of every class. She is also an AAPI environmental artist & muralist, analog photographer, surfer, sommelier, explorative electrofunk/house DJ, and all around lover of life! ☾𖤓

SATURDAY EVENING WORKSHOP

Madison is a certified personal trainer, endurance athlete, triathlete, and cyclist who embraces movement in all its forms—whether on the road, gravel, trails, or simply commuting around Louisville,KY. Rather than specializing in one discipline, they enjoy an array of experiences from exploring endurance sports to outdoor adventures. A lifelong Kentuckian, Madison has spent many seasons in the Red, adapting as her fitness, motivation, and goals evolve. They have worked in the fitness industry for years helping motivate individuals in group fitness settings and curating individualized programs for runners and your everyday athlete. She is passionate about creating a welcoming space where all bodies and identities feel invited to move, no matter their experience level.

DIY GEAR + GARMENT REPAIR STATION

Amy has been climbing since 2018, with a love for outdoor sport climbing. For her, climbing is more than a physical pursuit—it’s a way to connect with nature, meet people from all over the world, and find a deeper connection with herself. As a product designer by day, she’s drawn to the detail, precision, and nuance that both climbing and design share.

In the past year, Amy began sewing and mending her own clothes—starting on the floor of her home office. A lifelong gear enthusiast, she turned to making her own garments after struggling to find clothing she truly enjoyed wearing. That creative spark led to the launch of Studio Hui, her small brand focused on crafting garments that blend the arts and the outdoors. She’s excited to be part of the gear repair booth this year and to connect with others who share a love for climbing, creativity, and making things last.

INDIGENOUS HONORING AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT + PANELIST

Briana is CHamoru, of the Tugong clan from the Island of Guam. She is a community organizer, an environmental conservation advocate, educator, the Executive Director for the Urban Native Collective, CoFounder of the Indigenous Field Guide, and former board member of the Red River Gorge Climbers Coalition. 

Through her work, Briana has worked in partnership with local, regional, and national partners and environmental conservation agencies, Indigenous led organizations,  athletes, and Tribal Nations across Turtle Island, to advocate and educate on cultural land protection, treaty rights, climate justice, Tribal sovereignty and self determination, as well as health and human rights.

Briana is a mother, an artist, a sponsored athlete, and the first rock climber to be inducted into the North American Indigenous Athletics Hall of Fame.

CLIMBER ETHICS PRESENTATION

My name is Greta and I am one of the Access Fund's Red River Gorge Climber Stewards this spring. I am excited to be a friendly face out in the Red, educating the public about Leave No Trace principles and best climbing practices in this unique landscape. I learned to climb outdoors in the Red River Gorge back in 2018, and have been coming back ever since. You'll usually find me crimping my way up some vertical/technical faces here in the Red, and throwing myself at the overhangs in the hopes of learning the art of the steep.

SUNDAY COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS

Lyndon Cudlitz is an independent educator & consultant with over 20 years of experience in social justice facilitation and LGBTQIA services. Raised in Maine, Lyndon began climbing in 1996 and later served as a children’s instructor and gym co-manager. He is part of the leadership team of Crux , an NYC-based LGBTQ+ climbing org, and now coordinates its chapter in Albany, NY on unceded Mohican and Haudenosaunee land. Lyndon is a community weaver and organizer with projects that include co-founding Trans Climbers Belong.

CLIMBER ETHICS PRESENTATION

My name is Blair and I am one of the Access Fund's Red River Gorge Climber Stewards this spring. I arrived in Kentucky in 2023 and am incredibly grateful for the knowledge, community, & world-class climbing I've had access to since arriving in the Red. Being newer to the area, I'm excited to expand my network of friends, continue to promote responsible stewardship of the land, and grow as a climber. For me that means pushing to work on more technical faces and challenging myself to learn to trad climb.
